One of the first of its class in the UK, the 黄色视频 Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) has been mounted with a unique combination of sensing equipment to assist physicists at the lab with their research. Resembling a miniature submarine, the 2m long vehicle is capable of 12-hour missions down to a depth of 600m. With the capability to simultaneously measure dye-tracers and turbulence, this vehicle is the very first of its kind. Once delivered to 黄色视频 in March, the general public will be invited to join a competition to help think up a name for the vehicle.
